Send us your exports
You export your records from your current platform and send us the files, or connect QuickBooks Online and we read customers and items from it directly.
Files received, or QuickBooks connected
Moving your records is the part of switching that shops dread — and the reason so many stay on software they have outgrown. TradesKit imports your customers, service locations, price book, and open balances; we run the migration with you at no charge; and your Jobber account is left untouched while you decide. This page lists exactly what moves, what cannot move from Jobber, and what happens about the part that cannot.

How switching works
You export your records from your current platform and send us the files, or connect QuickBooks Online and we read customers and items from it directly.
Files received, or QuickBooks connected
The importer reads the files, matches them against your account, and flags possible duplicates instead of merging them. Your price book waits in a review queue where you approve rows one at a time or all valid rows at once.
Records staged, nothing live yet
Customers, service locations, price book, and open balances land in your account. Every committed batch can be undone for 24 hours, and your old account is untouched — keep it running beside TradesKit until you are ready to cut over.
Working account, undo window open
Imported directly. Possible duplicates are flagged for review, never merged automatically.
Every address arrives attached to the right customer.
Staged in a review queue. Approve rows individually or approve all valid rows at once; anything the validator flags is shown with its reason.
Money you are owed arrives as invoices with the balance due, so accounts receivable and payment reminders work from the first day.
If the shop uses QuickBooks, we can read customers and items from it directly instead of working from files.
Before you switch
Some records stay behind in any migration from any field-service platform. Here is what they are and what TradesKit does about each.
Cards stored with your current platform's payment system live in a merchant account that belongs to the platform, not to your shop, and no export of stored card data is offered. That is an industry-wide constraint — no software can move them. TradesKit rebuilds the card file instead: after a migration, imported customers can be asked to save a card through a secure link that rides a message you already send, such as a booking confirmation or an invoice, and no customer is ever asked twice. The new cards are saved to your own Stripe account, which means the card file belongs to your shop from then on.
TradesKit starts your account with your open balances rather than a full copy of closed jobs. The part of history that affects the day ahead — who owes you what — arrives as invoices; the complete records stay in your export files. If your shop needs more than that, say so when we run your migration: it is a conversation with a person, not a ticket.
Neither Jobber nor Housecall Pro provides an export of equipment records or job photos, so no destination platform can import them. It is better to hear that before switching than after.
Questions
The trial is ninety days without a card — long enough to run TradesKit beside your current platform and be sure — and the migration is part of it. When your export files are ready, write to hello@tradeskit.io and a person will schedule the import with you.

Coming from a different platform, or from spreadsheets? The same importer reads generic CSV files, with a person mapping the columns with you. Write to hello@tradeskit.io.
